This bar is much lighter than the GFL/Elda bar, but sacrifices structural integrity. I've had both.

Is there a kit that will allow the top of the center console to open and seats to still slide back all the way.

Without the harness bar u can do that

yeah if you just unbolt the harness bar, you can have full seat mobility, including full reclining, and have access to the secret compartment too.

great write up. i did mine on a lift...took me and another guy about 7 hours total (only thing we removed was the rear plastic tray). I also opted to not cut my carpet and drill through it, but be careful as mine nearly caught on fire. Here are a few tips from my experience:

1. Use titanium drill bits.
2. If you miss drill (the bit slipped a few times), and the hole doesn't line up, don't worry about it just re-drill.
3. An extra hand really helps.
