J's Racing does also sell a duct (ala Spoon) that uses the factory filter and box (I believe it is just under $400). As others have stated however, the full intake is around $1300 msrp, but you can find them for just over $1000.

The gains of the J's intake can not be seen on a dyno, only in real worl driving conditions. Chances are the gains are also minimal...and what you are basically paying for is the design and material of the intake itself. The J's probably gains just as much as the AEM, maybe 1-2hp difference. If you are getting the intake for the sound, don't get the J's, get something with an open filter like AEM, Comptech, PRM, or ARC. If you want to have the "bling" factor then get the J's. All in all, if you just want a functional intake without having to spend thousands, just get an AEM or something like that. You may also want to consid where you live, and if there is a chance with Hydrolock (a problem with certain people in rainy conditions). You won't hydrolock with J's, ARC, or Comptech though...

If you do get the J's, don't try to dyno it caues youll be dissapointed.

The J's Racing Tsuchinoko design was made for throttle response. Also, there's not enough air flow on the dyno even with a huge fan. No intake other than Gruppe M's, ASM or the C-West one will have as good as a throttle response than the J's.

^ That is true, But I find it odd that a Mugen intake, with the same snorkle design, can see noticeable gains, whereas the J's loses alot of hp on a dyno.

I am intersted in the J's racing as well however just one question. I know you need to modify the hood a bit or pick up a J's racing or similar hood, are there any other mods required? such as cutting a portion of plastic around the bumper for the air duct. Thanks
