Default GReddy E-Manage

Just wondering what the major differences are between the two models. I'm just looking for an NA tune. I've checked their web site and I've read that the new one's so much better, but I don't fully understand why. Can any experienced tuners chime in?

For starters, the ability to control timing. That is where you make the big power with tuning on S2000s, and that is how you make power safely. Otherwise you are just leaning out the fuel curve to make power, and that becomes dangerous.

Also it has a lot of cool features like the ability to switch between two maps. There are alot more that I can't remember right now, but Ultimate is way better than Blue.

Thanks man. I thought you could control timing with blue? How does the unit work with changes in temp? In Jerz we got 0 deg - 100 deg weather. I'm I going to need a different map for different seasons?

It works w/ temp changes b/c the stock ECU works w/ temp changes, and the stock ECU will change it's outputs to accomodate the temp change. The E-manage Ultimate modifies the signals that you want it to modify after they are sent from the stock ECU, so it will modify them to the same percentage, but since the stock ECU is compensating for the temp change the E-manage Ultimate's modified signals will be pre-modified for the temp change At least that's how it was explained to me -- the guy to ask about this is Twiztid on this site (actually Giles, Twiztid's tuner, but Twiztid is on here more often), he's a programmer up in New England who is one of the premier S2000 tuners in the country and he only uses E-manage Ultimates to tune on all cars (everything from G35s to Lotus Elises). Giles will definately know, but if you ask on the E-manage Ultimate thread in this JDM Forum, Twiztid will give you a 100% correct answer, I'm only like 99% sure of mine

I really appreciate your help. Nice to hear from someone who actually sounds like they know what they are talking about. Now I just need to come up with the funds

Yeah man, no problem. Altogether it ends up running something like $900-$1200 depending on the tuner and how much you make them do -- $500 for the unit, $200 for the Boomslang harness (which you need to install unless you want to hardwire it, which is kind of a b****), and between $100-$400 for the tune/install depending on how much work you make the tuning shop/install shop do (i.e. it's more expensive if you make them install it, and much more expensive if you want them to tune for part-throttle settings). Good luck!
