ASM intake might not dyno right.

its like the J's and Mugen in the way that they are more functional driving than standing still on a dyno.
I wouldn't think it would be effected too much since air isn't being rammed into it at speed like the Mugen/J's. The primary benefit of this intake is probably throttle response anyway.

The Gruppe-M looks awesome, but it still takes air out of the engine bay, so it will likely take in hotter air than the other intakes with a snorkel attached. Also, this eliminates any "ram-air" effects you will get with the snorkel. For the money, I'd go with ASM or J's Racing. Same basic design, but with a snorkel to the front of the bumper.

Hence I went with J's.

Frank, you can also try to contact GruppeM usa here: http://www.gruppemusa.com/contact/ or call them at 866-421-7366. I know when I had my E46 I ordered the intake straight from GruppeM NA, but I don't think that they are still in business. You can also try contacting Rennsport (I think they are now called technik) or modbargains.com because they sell a ton of those intakes with the E46 guys, so i'm sure that they could get the S2000 intake if it is still available, but their site no longer lists it. I know that this intake sounded great on my old car, but for the price it is for the S why not get ITB's instead? It is so damn expensive for an intake, its crazy.

BTW, I spoke with kingmotorsports before and the FRP tops should ship out tomorrow.

I talked with a friend who said it is discontinued in Japan. But, its hearsay for right now. I still ran over to my buddy, Bill's house (BNB), and snatched up the GruppeM he was selling. Its a bit louder. Low end is improved (2K-4K), midrange seems unchanged, top end (7800-9K) I feel a gain. This is all butt dyno driving around for a day. The top end seems to get better with speed. This intake doesn't really take engine bay air, the horn is situated right next to the radiator, and its mostly sucking cool air from what doesn't get shoved through the radiator. Oh well, I'll see how I like it then I might throw it up fro sale. I'm an intake whore, and I like to test stuff out to see what I like best since I don't trust dynos. So far I've had Comptech, ARC, stock, K&N drop-in with a gutted box, now GruppeM. I'm thinking maybe Mugen next. If I don't like the Mugen, I think I'll go Hayward.

Ive got one and quite pleased with it.

Its no louder than stock which is my only bad point, but apart from that it does seem to perform a bit better. Im having a decat and remap next week so I will put up the dyno results

I was going to get around to doing this had I not sold my car. There is an opening to the left of the intake that runs into the fender. I was going to get one of those intake couplings or adapters and run the snorkel to inside the passenger fender. It's hard to see in the pic, but I know it will work. Then it would eliminate the possiblility of any engine heat being ingested.

Look at the intake and try picturing it with the snorkel removed and seeing where the intake ends. From there just add a coupling(can't think of the correct term for the life of me) and run it inside the fender. Hope you enjoy the intake Drew.
