I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN DONE TO DEATH BUT
5 Zigen Pro Racer (P.S. Is this the same system that is in that Exhaust comparison Video I've seen on S2KI)
Apexi GT Spec
Buddy Club Spec III
GP Sports Spec D
SPugen Single Exhaust
Invidia Dual 70mm (The only reason I'm considering this dual is the style, 70mm, burnt tip, and price)
So these are some of the exhausts i'm am torn between. Obviously price is an issue. If it weren't I hear amuse, J's, Mugen....and so on.... are great.
The reason I'm considering all of these is becuase the name's are well known (with the exception of the GP Sports), the prices are great, they are mostly single systems.
I want something in this price range.
I also want something that is not crazy loud (yes I realize that singles are generally louder but i dont want to have to run a silencer on the street)
And obviously I want HP Gains (at least no losses)
IF anyone knows what exhausts fit these requirments that I have missed please let me know. I have searched this topic for a while know (I'm sure you've seen my posts is about a thousand 'exhaust' posts and I have watched the exhaust video a couple of times...out of all of them the 5 Zigen is the only one reasonably priced,) but I have still not decided on a sinlge system that meets ALL these requirments.
I realize I Am asking a lot. Any help you guys can offer would be great.

Get the T1R 63mm V2 or T1R 70mm V3 from Dave at R&D motorports or Dickson @ A-J Racing - Tell them KC from the S2k boards sent you. You won't regret either. Better than most of the above listed!
Just search on these two. You'll see rave reviews on them!

Let me get this straight...You want a single 70mm exhaust that's cheap, gives you good HP gains, and is quiet even without a silencer. HP gains and cheap price are often mutually exclusive. HP gains and being quiet are also often mutually exclusive. T1R 70mm V3 is about $1,000 once you add shipping. I would highly recommend it, but it seems like it's almost double the price of most of the exhausts you have listed. The invidia?! He said he wanted quiet, that's one of the loudest exhausts for the S2000. T1R 63mm doesn't make enough hp to be worth it. Spugen and GP Sports aren't even stainless. Invidia dual isn't quite as loud as the single, but it's loud and won't give you any HP. Some other exhausts in the sub-$700 price range that you can look into are:
JIC Magic DE Type 1 Sus
ARK N2 Dual
Tanabe Super Medallion
On a budget that tight, ebay is your friend.

The ARK is basically a rebadged old Invidia exhaust, so that's out if you want anything quiet.
Also, GP Sports makes full stainless exhausts so take a look at those -- and BTW to the OP, GP Sports is a very well known JDM brand, they are very active in the drifting scene though so drifters mostly know them. Buy from them with confidence, although I've never heard their exhausts.
The Buddy Club Spec III exhaust is pretty freakin loud, I would discount that if you want anything reasonably quiet as well.
And I'm going to point out that all of the exhausts you have listed are 60mm exhausts -- most 60mm singles will be reasonably quiet, but will not give you as much hp as a 70mm will. Out of the ones you have listed, the 5Zigen sounds nice and looks nice, and is made by a reputable company. So is the Apex'i GT Spec, it sounds deep when you're at low RPMs but screams when you open it up (a cool feature sometimes, one that the 5Zigen does not have). Or you could go find a used T1R 63mm -- T1R is one of the favorite brands of this board, and there are tons of dyno charts out there to prove that their products make power. Whatever you go with, good luck!

Thank You all for the info, that is what I was looking for.
Also thank you for Clarifying the GP Sports brand as well, I will have to look into them more.
It looks like my decision is being narrowed down.
P.S. Again I realize I am asking a lot. thank you for your help with my decision.

I like the thaught to the GT spec and the 5Zigen. They are reasonably priced (less than $650 new), they are made by very reputable company's, they are full stainless steel, light, they are single, and they (supposedely) are not crazy loud. sounds like everything I want.
But how much power can I expect to make with them? (Don't worry I won't get greedy with the power, I know that there are more powerfull systems out there, but I would like to make some power.

What year is your S? The 5Zigen would be my pick out of those . . . Or find a Spoon for cheap

also try Invision, Evasive, VVS, Bulletproof, etc. Better off going to a board sponsor for whatever exhaust you use.
