J's Racing Shift Knob

I have the blazed ARC knob and i hate it. I no idea before i had ordered it that the threading inside is a cheap plastic insert--it loosens when i shift occasionally, but especially on hot days when the plastic is more pliable. Since i first owned it, the knob has rotated at least 180 degrees more...soon the threading inside will be stripped out.
is the threading in the J's knob actually in the metal?

Thats good to know. I like the look of the ARC, but the plastic is horrible. The only way i can think about saving it is digging out the plastic and finding/making a metal version of the plastic insert.
And yes i haven't heard anyone else complain of this either, but i'm sure there are ppl out there right?! I know i can't be the only one. Maybe everyone else this has happened to, is in denial since they spent so much on low quality knob. I only spent $80 for it new, and i still feel ripped off.
