Default JDM and fiberglass?

I'd like to know why JDM aero parts are made of fiberglass and not something that would take an impact better like ABS or urethane? enlighten me!

I always wondered how well a JDM part will withstand a impact with something like a cone while auto X'n.

Fiberglass is pretty easy for a good <keyword> body shop to fix. Urethane will stretch and never get its shape back.

I guess you gotta pay to play. doesn't seem that way with euro stuff though. they seem to like the durable stuff.

Also the plastic parts would be insanely expensive to manufacture. I could be wrong but the molds are pretty expensive and the process of laying the plastic or injecting it is also costly.
