JUN reinforced subframe
another fact is, this isn't going to be a noticeable change for the majority of the people that drive the car,
unless you are really really pushing the car, you probably wouldn't even be able to tell the difference from this and a stock subframe.
a waste of money for many people? yes, a great part for a really really really serious S2000 enthusiast? hell yes.

So you think a JDM tuning company that builds street car's would have the upper hand on strengthening a chassis compared to a chassis builder/fabricator? That's like saying because Buddy Club already builds suspenion kits for the S2000, they can do a better job than Moton who is a universal race shock builder. You buy a JUN subframe for $2700, and I promise you I can have mine modded to exceed the performance of the JUN's for 75% less of the cost and you wouldn't know the difference. If you think JUN didn't want to sell any, why would they have BPA advertise it here and try to sell it. Of course they are trying to make money off it. It's not like they have other products to offer for the S2000 so justify the cost it took to build this subframe one-off.
i really doubt Jun contacted Bulletproof to try to sell these in the US, that is the doing of BPA I would think.
I don't know what Chassis builder you are talking about, but yes I do think a company that builds street cars would have the upper hand from any place you have mentioned.
I said that because these companies actually have experience building and racing these types of cars, they know the Chassis inside and out. Look at ASM, J's. blah blah blah blah blah.
i just don't understand the logic, everytime a new ****ing part that a shop develops on their own comes about, someone always feels the need to mention how much easier and cheaper it could be. instead of posting that over and over, go out and do it before these tuning shops . . . . Okaaaaay.
until you do that honestly shut the **** up (best regards) the point is that these companies realized this could be done and improved. they did what they thing would improve it the best and now they are putting it out there, I would much rather give a ton of extra money to a company like this that actually shows interest in what I am interested, even before I thought about it. instead of telling some shop to copy what I saw somewhere.
and for the Record, calling JUN and J's "street" car builders is laughable.
Have you seen some of the cars built by JUN? **** me they are way ahead of what any shop is doing here to any car.

Jun (IMHO) is the best Tuning company. Their one off cars are simply amazing, and always have amazing craftmanship. everyhting is always perfect from them. I good friend of mine worked for Jun (US) when they were here for a short time. He Said Mr. Koyama (the President) would inspect everything. Even all the hose clamps had to be facing the same direction. I had almost every B- series part offered by Jun on my old Motor. Simply amazing. I really Hope they Make an Engine kit for the F20 motor. That is the only way I will ever crack it open!

I also never questioned JUN's quality or efforts, merely just their pricing. But they do this to feed off of people like you that are bandwagon junkies, think their products are the end all be all, and never question the availability of a product this for far less money and easier accessible. Ignorance is bliss. You spend $2700 on this, I'll spend $700, in the end you'll have bragging rights for JDM parts, I'll just have a faster car.
Highrpmek,
believe me I completely understand what you are saying, and Yes I have to agree that you are correct in saying it could be done much cheaper, and maybe better.
I have no interest in buying this or helping anyone sell it.
I doubt JUN really gives a shit if anyone in the US buys this either, and I doub they are really expecting it.
my point is simply, the market for this part is actually there in Japan, so they did it, since, they are in fact doing this, they have the right to sell it for quite a lot, however much they want in all honesty.
I am not a bandwagon junky or any of the total ****ing bullshit, I don't read any of the bullshit magazines that are put out in the US, I am not only interested in racing in Japan, etc.
but I have much more respect for JAPANESE companies building specific parts for specific JAPANESE cars, than I do for any Chassis builder that would reinforce a random subframe brought to their shop. That shop isn't trying to bring new parts, etc. to this market, but these companies ( that you believe are just trying to take people's money are)
that is all I am saying.
and honestly, you aren't going to go to a shop and have them do that, and I am not going to buy this from JUN or anyone else, and I doubt anyone else is either, maybe some show car builder in the US will, because that is how the industry works in the US.
this isn't really a consumer product, this is more of a product JUN is trying to make available to racing teams, etc. in Japan, as they do with their engines, etc.
that is why I said look at the cars JUN has built, they help completely different companies build a very specific car, and they do ****ing great every single time.
that is there focus as a company

but in all Honesty
to you for thinking about it in a different way.
I am sorry to even argue at all, I just think this shouldn't really be confused for something that it isn't.
when it comes down to it, I know you are driving and enjoying the hell out of your car, and that is all the car enthusiast world needs, if it always has people like that it is golden.
