I don't know if I'm a bit disapointed or not

I love the lines of this kit & will be buying it when I can but I can't help but think it should have been at least polyurathane!

I'd like to see some work in progress pics

Andy
polyurethane widebody? wha?

fiberglass or carbon is the way to go. polyurethane wouldn't be able to hold it's shape and would weigh a ton!

well, not entirely... Less we forget the carbon widebody BNR34 GT-R?! They never made another kit aside from the one on the car, nor will they... They do it to do it, if they sell some products, that's okay, but usually when they are going for time attack, they aren't very concerned with what sells and what doesn't, they just want the record the HKS EVO is currently holding...
very good point.

Let me just say this...the ASM widebody uses prepreg (drycarbon) which is much more difficult and expensive to produce. Dry Carbon doors for my SC300 are $8000 per set. A full widebody kit for $49k isn't unreasonable for what it is. As far as value, a wet carbon kit would be probably an 8th of the cost and save alot of weight. Strength and durability wouldn't be as good as dry carbon but the value would be better. (just like the value of this Amuse kit....hell, i'm suprised more people don't have these on order)

HOWEVER

If I'm seriously racing the car and want the best of the best, that ASM kit is there. There's just no disputing it.

dude im not hating, im amazed youv got a sick car

but your profile says your 22 years old, how the hell do you afford all of this stuff at 22 years old

im mean iv read about people spending 8-9 grand doin a normal turbo kit, youv got what looks to be 100% custom kit, with a built motor you say is pushing 700hp so thats gotta be upwards of 20 grand, then a 6 grand bodykit, and your talking about 8 thousand in rims like its no problem

iv got to know how you do this

Its a bit overkill for the street and daily driving on top of for some of us really low cars it will break into pieces in a couple days so not really worth it...

Looks good for a show car...

this is true. i'm 21 with an M3. i was going to pick up a new M5 until i saw the M6 in person at laguna seca for the moto gp race. when i heard that car drive by and saw it i knew i had to have it. i am on the waiting list for the first ones arriving in FL. cost me $1k to get that spot. whatever its damn worth it.

Yeah its funny, people out there don't seem to have any concept of how drastic different income levels can be

Sometimes its because their family is loaded, sometimes its because a younger guy comes along with an incredible business sense and hits it big.

For what its worth, I appreciate the fact that even though they have enough money to buy a much more expensive car that they still put time into an S2000 to make it their own and really *work* on it. I think thats pretty damn cool if you ask me

Can't wait to see the kit when its all done!

PS> I'm not gonna lie, I'm jealous as hell, but instead of sitting around asking why thats not me or hating on people with lots of dough (not saying that anyone here was) it inspires me to go out an do what I gotta do to get my ass to that level

ok for real what kind of jobs can these people really have at 21-22, most people arent even out of college at that age or are just getting out, thats pretty insane to have a job paying 100k plus a year right out of college

im not hating i just want to know so i can start down that road and make the big bucks like these people
