I disagree on that one I have a OEM HT and it gets loose after 6 months or so but a mugen one looking at how it is i highly doubt it will fit so much better if not worse. Have you seen how the rear is just a rubber seal holded on by plastic tabs? It does not even fit properly you have to drill the holes bigger and there is about 15 of them or so. Wait until you put it on and tell me how long it takes for you to hear wind noise
did you also try readjusting the rear side catchers and mount? you really need to play with those to get a good fitment. that's why there is adjustibility because each car that comes off the lot, after driving the car for a certain amount of time and abuse on the road the chassis of the car will have some flex. so fitment cannot be perfect by just slapping it on.

hey guys. i just picked up my Mugen top today and dropped it off immediately for painting. i didn't even get a chance to check out the instructions... are they sufficient? i mean, do they really show in good enough detail how to install it? if anyone with more experience has any advice or pointers that the directions don't cover i would appreciate, as i am sure many others would as well since all the group buys for these things are starting to get delivered over the last few weeks. thanks a lot.

here you go... it's basically install all the same parts except for the defroster section!

you try messing around with how many metal shim pieces are placed where the front latches are?

no man. i should clarify this. he said the CURRENT ones are crap... because Honda started outsourcing them and stopped making them in the Honda factory... so if you have had one for awhile... you have a great top. if you have one bought in the last year... then it supposedly sucks. according to him. and the only reason i take what he says seriously is because it isn't as if he works at a dealership. he is a head of QC at honda (corporate). his job is he gets a new honda or acura every week to drive around and just report on it.

in matter of fact i did adjust the brackets and just to clear things up i don't know if you bulletproof guys took it the wrong way but johnathan said it as in he heard oem ht sucks because he knows a guy that works at honda. If it really did why would so many people run the oem one instead of the mugen one? the mugen one is still good in my book same as oem but i just want to clear it up as in their both good and neither one should be considered as crap/junk all hardtop will have to be adjusted oem or not especially if your driving on the road
I also want to add, OEM and Mugen FRP fitment should be the same as they use the same mounting points as each other and the same hardware. It all depends on the chassis of each individual car and how much it has flexed over the years of driving.
