Default Need Help identifying genuine spoon header

Hey guys

Is there any trademarks or logo/badge on the spoon header?

Im looking at buying used one but I just need to know what to look for to see it is a genuine spoon?

I just dont want to get ripped off buying some unknown header and paying price of a spoon

And how many types of header does spoon make for the s2000??

Thanks for your help

Nice, do you have it in your car? how do you like it?

And does the gasket and the ring come with it? what else comes with it?

Its next on the list for me, Ive driven cars with it on and is supurb. Yes it comes with the gasket and donut. Im running all spoon mods so the header is the last bit for my setup that Ill be doing as the car im happy with it.

The header gives up some low mid range gains with the main input at 7k - onwards where it is fantastic. I can say that the difference with other Spoon mods esp the ECU is a great package. Spoon is definatly a route that Ive found doesnt dissapoint but you do really need the core elements working together to get the best result. Pretty much the same with J's ect as the parts are designed to work together.

That sounds tempting!

So what else have you got in your car?

The only other spoon I have is the thermostat, I wouldnt mind the spoon ecu but that means I lose the immobiliser ay?
Im thinking vafc or emanage or some other piggy backs

I do have the spoon throttle body in mind for future

nope the ECU retains the Factory Cat 1 alarm ( UK Cars) the only change is that the Fuel pump needs to be gounded but this is a 2 min change/cable that is not permenent. If you can retune for ther header then fine, its just easy to put on a ready made ECU.

The V2 Venturi TB works great , noticable WOT and midrange and geneal throttle responce.

Hey Zerospel,

I have a different opinion about spoon products. To be quite honost I don't really care for quite a number of their parts. On their header I never noticed a stamp other than the Jasma stamp on top? I could be wrong though I haven't seen one in a while.

Air filters are waaay over priced and you can achieve the same result with a Gready/K&N/HKS filter and save $100.00.

I would recommend Mugen for the thermo switch and thermostat, temp range is almost the same as the spoon parts, but I have noticed the Mugen counterparts lasting a lot longer than the spoon parts.

Rear tie bars have also had bending issues (I have seen them bend in both aggresive street driving and during track use). I would recommend the comptech or if you want a JDM brand the ASM tie bar is pretty good.

Their brakes look really nice, but you might as well stay stock and by better pads unless you want them for the bling factor. brakes I would recommend instead would be Endless, Brembo, APR or Project Mu.

This is just based on my personal experience's of their products and also some of my friends. Many people are Spoon fanatics and will totally disagree with my comments.

There are Spoon products that I would consider such as the discontinued SW388's (made by Desmond) and other products like the Spoon steering wheel, If they release the version of their exhuast that was pictured in the latest version of hyper rev (not the N1), Radiator Hoses, Kevlar snorkal, and res covers.

Sorry to post such a long post, but I wanted to share my experiences with their product line. I am not talking trash on anyone who loves and uses Spoon parts on their vehicle, but for the amount of money you will spend to purchase their parts, I thought it only fair to let you know what I have seen so you dont replace parts you have bought later on down the road and waste more money $

Good Luck!

i think this is a good overview of spoon products in general. overall the quality is good and their fitment is good, but there are much better alternatives on the market.

btw the steering wheel is not discontinued, we have one instock right now

i am always curious as to where these myths start

Hey Silver J

I was reffering to the Sw388's (flat black Desmond Regamasters) not the Spoon steering wheel
