cool, so the aem is better. thanks
That's not 100% true. You can do more with AEM as it is a stand-alone system (ex change vtec engagement change redline...). You need to find a really good tuner for AEM. They have to tune for every single condition. Which is going to cost you a lot for a tuner to set up. You also can't pass emissions with AEM. The eManage system uses the stock ecu's maps and the tuner then modifies them. It takes only about 1/2 hour to get set up. I guess if your not going to get a crazy turbo set up or ITBs AEM is over kill. With eManage you can use on moderate turbo setups and are good to go.

So basically if you can find the right tuner: AEM>eManage>VFAC

im not too sure about this but arent gears mainly for how the power your making is put to the ground and how soon? it really doesnt give you any gains in HP.
yes on a dyno you wont see more hp or tq but the gearing multiplies tq by a certain amount.dont quote me but i think i read that 4.44 give you 8% more tq.

I'm not saying EManage is bad but me personally I'd rather have raw acceleration than 7-8 whp. Since were disputing and this thread seems divided on the issue why not get both !

it isnt that low, check out the dyno graph it gets those 10whp and tq across the who entire RPM range........ im not saying its better than gears but it will be a bit faster than stock.

Not only that, but if you've modded your car, and are presumably planning on modding it more in the future, getting it tuned should be very high on your list. If I lived near Ballistic it would be a no-brainer, they're some of the best S2000 tuners in the country.

I think you should get both, and they both offer about the same gains.

However, since yours is an MY05 and is still under warranty I would probably do the eManage first, since you can just unplug it when you take it in for service. With the gears you have to buy the yellow box, when somebody looks at the underside of your car they'll know and then you're SOL on a good bit of your warranty.

so you wouldnt feel a difference with emanage tuned on your car? : his AP2 gears already have a good low end grunt to them so why not just improve your WHOLE power line instead of your low end?
