Well a $1000 seems like a pretty good deal for cams and valvetrain. I'm not looking to spend like 2k on a set of Hytech cams. That's just way out of the budget.

As the saying goes, you gotta pay to play.

No, that is one of the major benefits of VTEC in the first place. The low cam profile is pretty mild for fuel economy and stable idle, etc. The high cam profile is the screamer. The phasing between the two profiles is so perfect, the transition is super smooth. I will be at the S2000 owners day in SoCal on the 8th if you want see it.

The Hytech cams, springs and retainers are $2700 out the door. Hytech does not recommend running the cams without the the specific springs they sell.

The HyTech cams work. I can't reccomend another setup.
So what is your point of reference before the cams, or did you do the whole build at once (ITBs, cams, header, etc.)?

Either way, those are very nice numbers!

I honestly gave up on this because I'm tired of arguing about it. Toda cams do make power if you have them installed and adjusted correctly. Also, you need a tune to take advantage of them. Intake, Exhaust, Toda cams, cam gears, valve springs, and a tune should get you 230whp. Whether they're worth the price difference over Skunk2, I can't say because I've never driven a car with Skunk2 cams. Actually, I haven't really seen a dyno either. I would get the Hytech cams if you have the cash, they will make more power than Toda or Skunk2.

p.s. These cars sound amazing with cams.

Seriously? There are cars with just bolt-ons and tuning hitting 230whp, remember the huge 230whp thread? Heck, AP2s are around 210whp stock!

Also, this is confusing ... first you say that you don't know what kind of power (if any) that Skunk2 cams make because you have no personal experience with them and have never seen a dyno of them, then you say that Hytech cams will definately make more power than Skunk2 cams. Do you have any personal experience with Toda cams, or is that part of the comment just you winging it as well?

I think there were some dyno's done to "Mines" car with the Cams before he installed the ITB's I'm not positive but I think that was the case. Hopefully mines has access to those dyno's.

I am in the same boat not looking to add ITB's, but considering EMS and possibly the Hytech header??? dont know for sure yet.
