Default Spoon Caliper 60mph-0 distance?

Hey guys, I got a ticket this past weekend of following too closely.

21703. The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicle and the traffic upon, and the condition of, the roadway.

The officer said that if the car in front of me had to slam on the brakes for any reason that I would hit him. I just want to know the stopping power of the Spoon caliper 60mph-0 distance.

Does anybody know the factory stopping distance?

Thanks!

wouldn't you have to state the car that you were following as well as you're comparing your 60-0 time against theirs?

Whats reasonable and prudent? The officers opinion? I have more facts than the stopping power of the Spoon caliper and the agility of the Honda S2000.

It's my opinion that unless you hire a lawyer to plea this down, your facts aren't going to do squat.

The code allows for subjective judgement from the officer issuing the ticket. His 'experience' will trump your facts in the court of revenue generation (as oppose to a court of justice).

Let's hope that you either hire a lawyer or I am wrong. When I get into tickets, I'm of the opinion that I'd rather let a lawyer pocket the money than the courts. If it starts costing the courts more to ticket and prosecute minor traffic offenses than what their revenue is, I'd hope they'd rethink their ticketing parameters.

I got a similar ticket I fought in court. The judge basically said cram it the officer is right. I didn't have any representation, not sure if that would be worth it

spoon calipers dont decrese you stopping distance, there designed to reduce brake fade while your racing on the track

and your even dumber then i thought if you think your gonna go into court and say i have these cool brake calipers and they make me stop super good so i can follow people closer then normal people, and my carf is super agile and i can avoid the accident when the guy in front of me stops all of a sudden

dude just pay the ticket, your gonna end up paying more if you goto court, your gonna pay the ticket, court costs, parking, and gas

just pay the ticket

You should definitely fight it, and hope he just doesn't show up to testify. Here in Vermont, that almost never happens as they schedule all of an officer's hearings on a given day to avoid this. Still, it has saved me 50% of the time in counties outside my own where they don't do this. You should definitely NOT argue that your calipers make you stop in a shorter distance, you will just piss the judge off.
