The officer said that the factory height is 22" from ground to center headlamps, and that the legal limit is 22", so any lowered S2000 is illegal.

if you have coilovers raise your car up and have it verified by the state troppers and bring that to court saying your car is legal height
and about your ticket, heres what i do, iv gotten several tickets over the years, and when they send you notice for court, first you request that the officer be in court, then later before your court date you reply with a letter stating you need a different date for court, now in md you can do this twice, so thats what i do
with the cops they get a day where they goto court each month where they still get paid, and when you postpone the court date its going to mess with the cops schedule and there not goin to show up 2 months later
and since you requested the officer be there, and when the officer doesnt show up to the court date you pley not guilty and you get off charges and pay not court costs, because the officer didnt show up
this has worked for me many many times, and i havent been convicted since i was 19 and im 26 now, and i found out about this after i got that ticket when i was 19, so it whould have worked then

spoon brakes should be better than the oem 60-0.
24400. (a) A motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, shall be:

The headlamps and every light source in any headlamp unit shall be located at a height of not more than 54 inches nor less than 22 inches.

just my 2 cents, but about the braking. all your facts are good and all but you have to factor in your (human) reaction time. there is always a delay.
The law was made for the general public and the distance puts into account how fast or how slow a person can react when the car in front slams on the brakes.
action is always faster than reaction. good luck on your situation

Why? Other than fade (temp), and improved pad-compounds (since they're the same size as stock, right?), how are Spoon calipers with stock pads going to decrease stopping distance?

I'm not sure what an 8pt ticket is. All I know is that it is an infraction and this it will be 1 point on the DMV record and insurance will increase.
Basically tailgating here is an 8 point ticket. Your insurance will go up. I think its 12 points to lose your license.
What was the official violation you received for 1 point?

I thought all the points were the same in every state this way people wouldn't switch states to avoid points.

Basically the past month I've taken my car out 4 times, and out of those 4 times I've been pulled over and inspected 3 times.
The first one I got a ticket for not having my headlights on at 3:00PM, damn daytime headlight section. As if my car wasn't bright enough.
I plan to go to traffic school so the 1 point doesn't show up on my record. But now this shiet happened, and I will not be eligble to take traffic school for at least 18months, so this will be 1 point on the record.
