Default Spoon Titanium Shift Knob

I need some technical help.

I have a Spoon Titanium Shift Knob. I want to know if anyone has had any first hand experience on making the top blue.

I took an oxyacetylene torch as well as a heavy duty propane torch and all I get it ugly looking oxidation. What

just polish it with a buffing wheel and make sure you clean it well with some degreaser and make sure not to put your finger prints on it then start from the top with a torch and once its the color you want it let it cool down and pick it up

i got mine done at ajr. apparently they had to torch up to like 300 degrees or something.i forgot what dickson said. but it took like a day to cool down.

he said it was red from it being extremely hot and they cant dip it in water to cool down because it would make water marks on the knob.

It just takes about 15 mins to cool down

Just make sure the knob is polished and clean before you torch it.

So this can be done with ANY Ti Shift Knob, right?? So if I buy the A-Spec Ti Shift Knob from Import Tuning Garage (for $91), I can make it look like the J's Racing Ti Shift Knob (which costs $189) just by cleaning and torching it??

A-Spec Ti Shift Knob

J's Racing Ti Shift Knob

If so, this'll be a good way to save myself half of what the J's costs!!
