packing does wear out eventually but on a close to 2 grand exhaust with only 3-4k miles on it? It shouldnt wear out that quickly

Ben, i know what you are talking about with the springs and for that i just left them off the exhaust. But the sound that ive been told from the owner of my old 70RT is that it is coming from the muffler itself. Sounds like all the packing/fiberglass has fallen apart in the muffler. I think that is the same noise the original poster is hearing as well
I hear ya. We have been supplying higher tension springs and the new ones will not come off because they are harder to go on.

Yes it does wear but it will last more than 3-4k miles. As I have said I had this exhaust for 1+ year and I had atleast 5000 track miles of abbusing and I never had a single problem.

The only thing that I can think of and which we did had expierence with the titanium exhaust breaking was, exhaust the silencer staying in the exhaust for too long with abbusing. With the silencer installed, it will creat high exhaust pressure and this will occur heat spots and made stress to the welds and the muffler. Usually this will not happen to stainless because stainless is tough, not saying titanium is not but it is brital when it comes to back pressure.

I know we supply the exhaust with the silencer but we never recommend to use it with abbusing.

I just received a PM from the guy I purchased my 70RT from: he never even received the silencer from Funktional09.

I never used a silencer in my two Invidias over a 4 year period. I sure as heck ain't gonna start now.

I hope everything works out and I can assure you that AJ Racing will stand behind their products. I want this exhaust in a bad way, so I hope all issues get worked out.
