Default t1r just installed

i just installed my T1R system, let it just sit at idle for about a half hour to warm up then took it out for a drive....after going through redline at 2nd and 3rd there was a horrible horrible smell, much worse then when i ran the car with just a test pipe and no exhaust on....is this just the packing breaking in or is there something wrong? thanks

Check your bumper is not melting! (I know from bitter experience with the T1-R)

Is it like a burning plastic smell? If so, when I installed my Apex exhaust on my RSX for the first couple days it had a burning plastic type of smell, then it went away. I assume it was just all the stuff in the exhaust pipe getting burned off.

When I got my sparrow in, it had plastic film over the T1R logo on the mufflers. Could that be it?

just give it a few miles and it will go away. the pipes need to get use to the heat.

does it make a crackling sound also?

The bumper starts to melt right underneath at first, its hard to see unless you get your head underneath.

i dont think its the bumper but lets just say it is the bumper....how do i combat this? btw i have a z-tec single exhaust cover, could it be melting under the cover? the cover isnt melting, but maybe its melting under the cover.

Its normal, give it another 200miles, it will go away. Dont stress over it.
