Talk to me about cams...
Maybe im blind but I dont see that many people are using aftermarket cams?
Can anyone that runs them give me some feedback in terms of make, cost, fitting issues, mapping work needed, and gains made?
I gave up on the S/C route and want to stick to N/A stuff. I currently have a Gruppe M intake, decat, HKS Hiper (I know its not good for power!) and will be going for an ECU map ths week. After that will be a manifold and a retune on the map. For me the following stage is cams but cant find much info.
I know Toda and Skunk2 do them.
Help appreciated!

Toda is the only one who made cams for the S.
In order to get all the power from the cams you would need the Toda cams gears and a AEM EMS or Emanage (Spec B&C).
There is 3 type of Toda cams but for daily use the Spec A is ok, I have not seen lot of improvement

there are plenty of companies that make cams for the S2000, it depends on what you want out of it. For example the three different kinds that S2000 Europe was talking about have different degrees of function, basically the DOHC stands for dual overhead cams, on the stock your cams have two different size profiles. One runs from 0-6000rpm, thats the economy set, the other higher profile from 6000-9000 for performance giving your engine a taller stroke. Performance cams from companies like toda offer you a more performance based setting, the most extreme of which being a set of purely performance profile cams, in other words its like VTEC all the time (enticing isnt it?) and also some in between this and stock. Im not sure on this but they may also offer cams of an even higher profile than the stock high profile cams. Im pretty sure all that's correct but someone feel free to correct me if Im wrong.
