Default Tein Type N1 Dampers...

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=303348

Here is a link to the original thread. Anybody used these before or know much about these? I originally ordered the Tein Super Racing Dampers.

But i recieved the Tein N1 instead. I plan to keep these since i already have them. It is valved to 16/16 w/ 16/16 racing springs. i need to find pillow mounts for these.

I would also like to talk to people who have had used these for track purposes.

Thanks.

Isn't this the JDM "tuning" forum? Where are all the JDM "tuning" gurus?

Anyways, I'm coming very close in finding the upper mounts for these. After that i should be testing these out so I can give some detailed feedback for these coilovers. It would seem that my only source of information would be Japanese race teams. Other than that i'm on my own.

I'm sorry to say that you'll get better results in R&C, as you've probably seen. I'd love to hear your impression of the N1 coilovers once you get them on.

Are these any good? I have heard nothing really good about Tein. I used to like Tein back in 2000-2001 when my buddy had the RS setup. Now they are an average/ok suspension at best. Arent they manufactured in Mexico now thus the lower quality turn around? I was told this by numerous shops Sorry I dont have any feedback on them.
The N1's are made to order and are produced in Japan. You can order these with specific spring rates and specific valving for your own preference. I had mine changed to 16/16 and valved to use these spring rates.

I'm not sure about the other Tein dampers and their quality and performance.

But I did use the Tein RE's before on my dc2 and i thought they were pretty good for what they were. With a complete stock motor (only intake and header, stock exhaust), full interior, running on azenis rt215 i was able to hit times of 1:38-1:40 at big willow. Only thing i really messed with were suspension tuning from the alignment, spring rates and dampening on the tein RE.

The reason why I'm using Tein again for the S2k is because it worked for me.

Why change to something else when something has worked for you before with good results?

Anyways, for all i know these Tein Type N1 dampers can be the worst dampers on the market. I guess i'll just have to find out when everything is ready and complete.

Sounds good. I had Zeal B6s and those were pretty good but too bouncy and the height adjustment was very limited so I switched to Aragosta and these are perfect for me with the stiffer Swift spring rates and full adjustability. It has all the stuff Tein offers and more but a little on the expensive side. Tein prices are really affordable too. Thats good. Yeah a bunch of my friends run these on their civics and integras with no problems but I only know like one person that has them on his S and they were great back in 2001.

I take that back a very good friend of mine has the EDFC and the Tein flex? He says they are great.
I am always open for change and new products because they are only getting better with time. Its also about the driver too to put the suspension/wheels/tires to good use.
How are the Aragostas you have Chris? How much Compression/rebound adjustment? I've seen a set on some cars in japan with remote resivoirs like the higher end Quantums and JRZs. As for Zeal B6 coilovers, I think Ryan at Eibach has had a set put on their shock dyno. The results that came out were less then stellar, only 3 way adjustability in front and the rear dail had no effect on rebound. I know of one S2000 on the board that tracks his car aggressively with Tein RS, I think his handle is "Nobody."
