Default toda cams

i would like some feedback on toda cams(spec a, b or c) from someone who has first hand experience with the cams...if you have a dyno sheet and/or mod list that would be a plus too...i know all about the cams so any other info would be useless, im tired of all these stores, oh those cams are useless, they yield no power, yada yada...if thats true, id love to hear it from someone who has used them i would just like some input from someone who has firsthand experience...thanks in advance

Before you get too interested in the Spec C cams make sure of availability. When I had checked into them they were basically not available in the US. Not JDM but Comp Cams will custom make some for you off new billits not reground.

Thanks for the heads up...luckily its quite some time away until I get to buying cams, they are one of my last upgrades...so if the Spec C's aren't available, maybe something else will be

i did some research myself, and from what i gather you need the whole deal. don't just buy the cams, you need to do the today gears and shafts because they work hand and hand.

but i also agree, PM dan

Any idea if the AP1 and the AP2 cam shaft profiles are the same (before and after the vtec switch over)?

The TODA site does not state if the A spec camshafts are good for the AP2

I am considering going with the A spec cams with either the Axial flow supercharger or the BRP roots supercharger on MY04.

ok what you guys really need to know is Cams are not drop in and go items. Cams need supporting mods to get the full potential out of them. If you don't have a good flow header & exhaust, then forget about seeing any gains. If you just drop them in without any dyno tuning to the cam gears ( toda cam sprocket ). Then forget about making any noticeable power.

I e-mail toda a couple of times and they stated that you get their ( cam sprocket ) to get the full potential out from the toda a's. You will also need some type of fuel tunning system ( AEM EMS, HKS F Con ). Now going toward the B's and C's spec cams that toda offer. They will fit in our car with no clearance problem, but that is stating if you leave the cam setting set at 0 degrees. Which mean you didn't adjust the cam sprocket at all. Now if you want to adjust the cam sprocket then toda suggest you clay the motor for clearance on the cams. All the cams tested by toda, were with the * toda high compression piston *.

So don't expect getting cams will help much either without proper modification to help these cam flow properly.

So to clarify Birdie

The TODA Spec A WILLWORK on an 04 with supporting mods (TODA valve springs , and high flow header/exhaust system) no After market ECU( TODA A spec are compatible with the stock ECU) and high flow intake.
