Default Top Secret Hood

Anyone have the FRP or Carbon version of this? Is the carbon version a pre-preg top with CFRP/FRP frame or CFRP top/frame? Fitment good? Any complaints?

You can get the hood in FRP, or Carbon. I have the carbon version. It is very light, but also very thin!!! I am actually thinking about using hood pins based on how light it is, and how the latch is attached to it...

I haven't had any fitment issues with mine and I've gotten up to around 100 mph a few times using only the latch attachment and no hood pins. It does shimmy a little here and there but its built incredibly well. I love the fact that it comes with rainguards and is fully functional. My engine cools down so much faster now with a vented hood, its awesome! You'll be happy.

Oh the vents in the back just don't drop straight down. Nice feature.

Its carbon fibre on the top but fiberglass underneath.

It still feels lighter than the OEM hood but probably not by much. Others on here can attest to how much lighter it is.

And yep, the vents are sloped back but if you park the car outside without the rain guards installed, water will get inside the engine bay. At speed without the rain guards installed, while driving in the rain, you will get a small amount of moisture around the engine but nothing to worry about.

I plan on painting mine within a year or so as well. I primarily bought the hood for the vented features and its been a great investment alongside with a final drive gear change.

I have both. I got the FRP one after because I was gonna paint it. Mine is off by like 1/8 and inch but then again I didn't adjust ANYTHING. Not bad for bolting it on. If you're in NORCAL my CF TS hood is for sale.
