Description:
Selling my 2000 AP1 in Silverstone Metallic over red interior -- clean title, no accidents, no leaks. Cold AC. 10/10 vins and stock except for a few minor additions noted below. Second owner since 2013 with service records and recent Carfax report.
Recently inspected by Houston's premiere S2000 specialist, Mr Kenneth Velasquez - this one is 'Ken approved'. Additional maintenance performed by Steve & Rene at Mayco Automotive Performance in Houston - another S2000 specialist shop.
### Recent Work Completed:
- Billman TCT
- Full fluid service
- New plugs + coils
- Valve adjustment & valve cover gasket
- Cooling hoses
- New starter switch
- 4 Firehawk Indy 500 tires installed 8/2024
- Alpine CD/Bluetooth head unit
- Hoop mounted rear speakers
- Acrylic wind block on storage compartment lid
- Soft top replaced in 2019
I've driven this off and on since 2013, and it's been garaged the majority of the time. However, there are the usual wear items for a 25 year-old car, including: front bumper lower lip scuffs & cracks, small ding front left corner fender, door dings, paint chip right rear fender, light scratches on trunk, small windshield chip, minor scratches in rear window plastic. Excess glue on interior of soft top just above rear window due to stiffener shifting after installation. Driver's side seat bolster is worn. There's a worn spot in driver's side carpet near the brake pedal area (under the floor mat) from the prior owner's high heels.
### Deferred maintenance items
There are a couple of things that my mechanics recommended that I have not completed since I'm selling the car. None are major concerns, just time & $$ - if I were keeping the car I would do these:
- Engine mounts are original & worn, will need replacement eventually. Currently does not affect how the car runs or drives
- Clutch is the original AP1 clutch-- works fine but does occasionally whines when cold, and has typical AP1 clutch chatter when downshifting. Shifts smoothly but next owner may want to upgrade this.
- Valve retainer clips are (as far as I know) not upgraded; car has never been over-revved.
- Rear brake pads will need replacement soon.
