i think he means by setting some heavy objects in your trunk or on your hood when you're not driving it so it'll settle lower. I did that with mine for a little bit and the back sat lower than the front so I took i put something on my hood and it was lower than it is now but I don't think I let it sit long enough so the height went back up a tad bit

Not exactly. What I'm talking about is done during the installation. Once you have the shock with the spring installed in place, you place a jack under the shock and jack up the car with the jack on the shock until the car is an inch or so off the jack stand on that corner. While the shock is compressed under the load, you tighten the tophat bolts (38 lbs if I recall). This compresses the suspension during the install and the car sits lower.
