Are you using a Seibon hood or real Mugen hood?? Did you have to cut/trim the hood to make it fit??

VIS hood. With mugen, seibon or vis hood, no trimming required.

What filter fits this intake? Is it just a generic or will it fit a K&N?

It takes K&N but I don't know what's the exact part number. But it has a filter similar to K&N filter, I use the K&N recharge kit on it to clean it.

Yeah, if you have any hood other than mugen or j's style, you have to cut.
