The $61 scan tool I'm selling is a set of cables and connectors and with a CD-ROM software that has a serial number code. It runs off any laptop or desktop computer. No pics of the cables or software. You can visit their web to see pics.

I assume one end plugs into the OBD port under the passenger dash. What is the end that plugs into the laptop? USB? RS-232? (9-pin?) What OS do you use?
Many modern laptops don't have serial ports, so this might be an issue (mine has four USB 2.0 ports but no serial/parallel ports...)
Okay, with a little research at your link I see the following:
"Use Windows 3.1, 95, 98, BOB, ME, 2K, XP computer, 386 or higher, optimized for low cost laptops."
"Includes protected RS-232 serial gateway, OBD-II connector and cable"
"Optional order items include USB adapter $28, extension cables 25-100 feet."
Some pics of the cabling here: LINK
All of the pics show a 9-pin RS-232 plug, except the optional USB adapter.

Yea. Standard is the 9-pin. My laptop has a serial 9-pin. If you want to run on USB, you can go to the computer store and get an adapter.
I tried on my Windows 2000 and Windows XP. They both run great.
