I think he did. I think he had both the Mugen and the Spoon stuff (he couldn't decide). Don't worry, Airgate has been on the board and is well known/respected. He would'nt scam you.

Does the fan switch and the thermostat do anything hp wise, or does it keep the car cooler?

they will help to keep your car cooler. We just had a Dyno day and my car would run at 195 plus and we had to cool the car to 190 so that the pulls would be consistant but when Pinky was up his car would run at about 170 all the time

so i would say no to the HP but yes to running cooler
