I was at the PCA event on Saturday; the new lot is not the best lot for autocross, too many light poles and curbs. It will be hard to design a different safe course there. We had rain the whole event, but it was fun.

At the SCCA on Sunday in STR we had 16 drivers; it was the largest class of the event. We had about 4 S2000s. This class is becoming extremely tough and competitive, but it is a lot of fun.

Looks good Pete. I see you lowered the Miata a bit.

Yea, I am running DGR monotube coilovers. Will run the car in STR but it is far from ready at this point.

Had fun at the SCCA AutoX. This was the first time I've pushed my car to the limit (and beyond, haha). Spun it twice on my 2nd run. Got a good time on the final run, but missed one cone and got a DNF. Still would have been last in STR though. Those guys are very good.

I miss this, I gotta get back into it, life has been so busy. I'm gonna try to make CDC 4/30, 4/31, or 5/7.

Who is gonna go to those events?

Results are up. Looks like I paxed 3rd overall (~45 cars) and 5th in raw times with no alignment and OEM wheels/tires. With some wheels/tires and an alignment, the Miata should be an FTD contender at local autoXs. I'll try to make some of the SCCA events since STR looks like a good field (like the old SCCA AS where we had 20 cars and at least 6-7 of those cars had fast drivers).

Hey so I was going to do the northern new jersey autocross on saturday, but they just cancelled it. I was thinking about combining a trip home for easter (my parents live in Frederick MD) with an autocross on saturday or sunday. What clubs are near Frederick? I see AI has one in Waldorf, I see capital driving club has one in Bowie. Anything closer? If not I've never been to either of those sites before so any input on which ones better?

Frederick is a tiny lot... I would avoid it. Bowie is not too bad I would recommended it for this weekend as long as it doesn't rain. Only down side is CDC doesn't use a quarter of the lot. Mainly because new autoxers tend to wreck coming in and out of the lower part... Like the M6 at the Mazada Club event... zzzzz

AI is the better lot by a large margin....

Better competition down there as well.....

It's 85-90 miles from Frederick, though. Also, they are running a crunched schedule due to the baseball game. Last I heard it was going to be limited to 90 entries. There are 81 currently registered. I plan to be at Bowie if the weather looks OK. I don't have wets....so if it is raining....I'll stay at home.
