Strongly considering pulling the trigger on some 255 Star Specs. I have an extra set of 9" wide RPF1's laying around. First things first, are my stoptechs up front legal in STR? Aside from that, the car should be legal. The other thing is, unlikely as it may be, I don't want to finish higher up and bump down someone in a points battle. So, how do you guys feel about me joining you guys in STR? I still may run BSP, but I have the season points locked up.

Just jump in. You may or may not do as well as you think -- even against lower power cars like the NA miatas. STR is really interesting. Anyway, outside of 1st place, it is all mixed up and still anyone's game. Or run STR Non-comp if you are worried about the standings.

You are a good driver, as evidenced by your consistent pax standings, but I bet STR will surprise you with how unpredictable the results are.

Yeah, the brakes are not STR legal. I can’t remember but do you have cats and full interior? What about engine wise do you only have intake headers and exhaust? Either way it should be fun to have another car in the mix and like Noel said you can run non-comp.
I am thinking about Nationals also, but for next year. By the way STR is the largest class by a lot so far at nationals 52 entries!

I don't have cats....

I just bought a Recaro Profi also . Maybe I will just run non-comp STR...since I am not entirely legal, but at least I can have a point of reference.

So, Noel, what were your impressions of the CR with hoo's? Nice two day win. Too bad Ron Dotts wasn't there....he could have given you a better idea of how you stack up in B-stock. He is still a fair bit slower than Eric K, but probably faster than the rest of the B-stock D.C. field.

Almost the top half of STR beat the top driver in B Stock a few events ago, so I'm not as interested in that class locally. However I (of course) am interested in driving against Eric. But, if I go to Nationals, I will get to compare with Jadrice and the Kozlaks, so Erick might be more interested in comparing with me after that.

The tires didn't feel that fast, but the car was much faster than when on street tires. The course was not very good for evaluating tires because it was really just slaloms and fast straights. I will try and get the tires to DC for fun runs on Sunday. The Chase Race hitch seems unattainable at the moment due to the company not answering the phones / emails, and it is tough to get one used.

I think street tires require more calculation with respect to small slips and skids, but that Hoosiers permit driving the car like a momentum car better since you can carry more speed around turns. I guess to each their own. I don't consider the A6's to be "like crack cocaine" like some say, but they are really fun.

Did you end up with 245/275's? I do plan to run the star specs for the fun runs Sunday. Need to find some time to put my recaro seat in this week as well. Getting re-tuned tomorrow night as well . Keeping my fingers crossed for no rain on Sunday.

245/40-17 square. 245/275 causes understeer. 275/275 requires Motons to create artificially higher spring rates to avoid rubbing.

Plus, this permits me to run the same sway bar settings as I do with the STR setup.
