2011 SOVA Auto-X Thread (Includes Richmond)
I don't blame you. In the past I don't think either would be a problem but I don't know if there is an official policy. You should definitely contact the powers that be and explain the situation.
Just finished getting all the autox stuff out of the shed. I'm disappointed that we won't be at acu4, but I'm always pleasantly surprised with the course designs at pungo. Granted, I only live 45min away. Two hours would be a different story. See you guys tomorrow.
Actually, this event was a pleasant surprise. While not a ACU4 course, it was not the type of course we've come to see at Pungo over the last few years. It was relatively open and fast. I had a friend as a codriver and was on 2 year old Hoo Hoos so I wasn't expecting much. The tires ended up lasting the entire event and held up well. I'm sure a could have been a bit quicker with newer tires.
I'll have a video up, before too long, and heres how it played out for the s2ks in attendance.

I didn't do as well as I wanted. I dunno if it's the course surface and my tires/tire pressure or if it's just me. I may consider running str on next pungo event. As always I still had a lot of fun.

and on my third run I almost hit the little house structure trying to push it too much.

I wouldn't sweat that event too much. It was cold and the first event in months. Got your PM, I'll get back to you soon.
On a sad note, TSCC has lost the use of ACU-4 for this year. The location of the remaining autocross season and novice school is TBD.

Unfortunately, the base command had safety and security concerns. This was supposed to be a big autocross year for me and now I've lost my primary test and tune location.
Hopefully things will work out, I don't want my only open high speed events to be tour events.
"TSSC Members and Regional Autocrossers,
Tidewater Sports Car Club has officially been notified by the Base Commander of JEB Little Creek that we will be unable to hold our monthly autocrosses at ACU-4. While we obviously would have liked to have a different outcome, we understand and support the decision of the Base Commander. We were all fortunate to have such an amazing venue for as long as we did. On behalf of TSCC, I would like to express my appreciation and thanks to the Navy, JEB Little Creek, and ACU-4 for their support over the years.
I do not want to see or hear of anyone criticizing the decision of the Base Commander. The Navy, JEB Little Creek, and ACU-4 has made what they feel to be the best decision for their interests. We hope to someday return to JEB Little Creek and ACU-4.
The leadership of Tidewater Sports Car Club is actively pursuing other area venues and will inform the membership as to their plan as new information becomes available.

I knew this was a very real possibility and hated to think it was actually going to happen, but it did. There are several new locations being considered and negotiated.
