I like to do both, a gravity bleed and when I can get Brenda out to the garage. I have SpeedBleeders in the front but I make her pump for the rear brakes & clutch.

I just do the old pump and go. Works fine. I am getting much longer fluid life running Mutol Rb600 compared to ATE.

Put those rear pads in and installed stoptech stainless lines all around. I decided to try a hand vaccuum pump to get most the air out of the system. I'm going to have my brother-in-law swing by tomorrow and go around the old fashioned way (i.e. pump and hold while I break them open).

You all use the gravity bleed? To me it just doesn't make sense that it would get most the air out. Correct me if I'm wrong, you crack open the bleeder and let it slowly trickle out for ~1 hour at each corner. Is that enough to push big bubbles out?

Gravity bleed is the best. It isn't an hour per, but it does take a while. Based on switching to & from ATE Blue, I would guess the fronts are 10 minutes or so each. The rears are probably 20 - 30 minutes.

I told Skip about this for a long time and he didn't believe. He is now a believer.

You have a pumper handy, which is nice.

I cannot get a good bleed with the power bleeder anymore.

On the subject of bleeding brakes, I just replaced my brake fluid with ATE blue. I gravity bled it until the fluid was clearly blue from each corner (in whatever order the service manual specifies. I can't remember off the top of my head).

The DIY's I've read said that I'd use about 3/4-7/8 of the can of super blue, but I'd estimate that I barely used half. Did I screw something up?

edit: The pedal feels fine, though not really any different than it did with the 3 yr old fluid that was in there before.

You had blue fluid coming from each of the four corner bleeders when you bled the brakes?

You have a brake fluid reservoir that is filled somewhere slightly under the "full" mark?

If you answered "yes" to both questions, you are fine.

Thanks. And Skip is running DA Koni's?

I'm looking on some input of running the Ground control complete kit with 550lb springs. I know they are at the top of the Koni yellow spring range so I was curious to see how they would react to it.
