Speaking of that, we may need to join forces to get our cars there. Do you have transportation yet Mike?

I have a buddy looking into it, but in the time being I'm still looking to find a truck to tow with. If we were to get a crazy big truck we could tow both cars.

I've test driven a few, and am probably going to make the purchase in the next 10-14 days. It won't be big enough to tow two cars...sorry.

That's cool though. No F450 Super Duty Dualie, huh???

As much fun as I make of pickup truck drivers, they sure are useful. Too bad a Subaru Outback or some non-truck can't trailer a 2600 pound car + accessories.

Good luck w/ purchase

Actually, let me know what you get, I may end up trading my 97 Civic for something if it comes down to it.

I could use one of these as my daily instead -->

I'm telling you man look into Honda Pilots, Nissan Pathfinder, VW Tourag, and even MB ML500's. All can be had under 15k (with decent miles), and will pull a CR on an open trailer no problem. The pilot and tourag are the most "car" like. The newer explorers (06+ I think) are also a good option. They have a very tow friendly 6sp auto and 3v V8.

Thanks Mike. The Pilot is probably what I would get, but when you see my C/R you will know why my budget is unfortunately not <$15K, and more like "trade 97 hatch + $2K and a bag of Funyuns."

Good thing: I have a supercar. Bad thing: I can't get it to events beyond about 300 miles from here LOL.

I will setup a search on autotrader for a Pilot that I might be able to fix up.

Thanks

BTW, I hope you kick ass this year. You really came up last year and I think you will see great results this year too.

I figure if I can pick up a .5s and the car is .5s quicker.....I am in the hunt. At the very least towards the pointy end of the Nats results.

That said, I'd be perfectly happy to see just one more slow guy sign up for dixie in BSP so I can get my tire. The guy who is registered was 13-14s off the pace last year.

I know you spent a lot of money on paint, suspension, etc in the off season. I did most of my big spending last year. Just little stuff this offseason (and one set of sticker hoos). Most of my time and money was spent getting the car legal this winter.

I took this a few weeks ago:
(12) 285 A6's...4 of which are on 18x10.5 RPF1's
(4) 315 A6's
(4) 18x9 RPF1's for Wets

Not pictured:
(4) more scrub 285's
(4) more 18x9 RPF1's with 255 Star Specs
Set of stock wheels

That looks like a lot of fun (its me Dj). I am going to have to register for this event, will you be signing up for this event?

For Dixie, do you need a codriver to get your tire? Id like to do a tour event, when is it?

I'm leaning towards running solo for Dixie, but if you want to do the DC Pro let me know. Dixie is March 10-11. Truthfully, with what is registered at Dixie...you could probably win XP (get a tire for TT ). Just a thought.

I think I am going to do the NASA Circuitcross thing at Patriot course later in March. I'll stop by and shoot the shit with you guys over on the full course.

Mike- Will this be your first national event? I think that you will do really well.
BTW what is the offset of those RPF1's wheels PDC 5x114.3? If so, let me know if you decide to sell a set…

Noel- I see that you are going to GA also, I hope that you kick a$$, I am not sure about going anywhere just yet.
About the towing vehicle: I was doing some research before, and I ended up with pretty much the exact same list as Mike…unless you can live with a pickup truck every day, this is a good list. The towing capacity of the VW Touareg is over 7K lbs, that is amazing, but VW reliability is a huge problem for me. The Pilot’s towing capacity is about 4.5K lbs. CR 2.6K lbs? and a open trailer could be around 2K lbs? so you will be really close to the max weight.
