Take the rear bar off your car. You're welcome in advance . You'd be shocked how well a car, even with your power and relative tire size, will hook up with less roll resistance in the rear.

SSM, removing rear bar is free, buying a big front bar is really expensive.

Big front bar will work better, but you might as well play around with removing the rear bar in the mean time.

They took out quite a bit of time out of the sunday course by cutting out some of the start from the saturday course. But it was a little suprising to me to see how much faster people were running compared to saturday. That video from noel on saturdays course looks pretty good. I wish I could see an in car video of lin to see what the differences are. Then on sunday it looked like shane was driving that miata and ran a 62.9?!?!
I was 0.17 off Chris's 1st place on Sat, so probably similar.

Shane posted his video of today:

Man, was that what I was supposed to do yesterday? He just kept it super tight around each gate. Maybe it's a miata thing

I was happy with how I did yesterday. I beat Ricardo and was within a few tenths of the more prepped cars and only a second off you Noel. Kept the tire pressure a bit lower in the rear and it seemed to help a good amount in keeping things stable

Yeah, with your setup compared to mine, and only a second off me, that was outstanding driving. By the way, Shane agreed that his time could not be possible in an S2000. He may be driving my car next time, but on a "normal" course I would expect the S2000 to be much better than the Miata. He did comment on how easy the Miata is to drive, and although it has been a year, I can say that I agree.. but, I prefer the S2000 because although it is a little harder to drive, the rewards are worth it when you drive it properly.

The Miata was easy to rotate via lifting, whereas our cars require more speed to lift and pivot. You can even see in my videos me lifting to get rotation, and it was minimal. But at higher speeds, the same lift in the S2000 is beautiful whereas the Miata can be tailhappy but more easily recovered. This was not the course to have anything other than a balanced to tailhappy car.

Lets also not forget in all this that Shane, regardless of the number of jackets others may have, is at least a top 5 driver in the region. He and Greg Olsen are a lot alike, in that if they could ever put two days with clean runs together, they would have a closet full of jackets IMO. Realistically, only maybe Strano can hop in any given car and go quicker than Shane.

I agree, but want to compare on a more representative set of courses. Maybe day 1 like Saturday and a day 2 more open... like a Tour format rather than two consecutive tight courses...

I have been after Shane to compare in fun runs for my benefit, but we only did it once, and I had swapped to RS3s to compare them to the Dunlops I was running. Brian G hated the car after driving Brian K's car the week prior on Dunlops. Shane didn't like the RS3s, either, but was still able to pull a run 0.5 seconds faster than me. My times were ultimately the same between the Dunlops and RS3s, but I had to work a lot harder on the RS3s...

So next needs to be a straight comparison on a "real" course.
