One of these days... I just need to get my car to the point where I can take it out. Curse my short legs and long torso!

In terms of cost difference, a SA rated helmet might cost an additional ~$75 and should last for 10 years.

Not trying to be a dick, but if you can't afford a decent helmet you probably can't afford to take your car to the track.
It's pretty easy to borrow a quality motorcycle helmet from a friend for a first track day. This is just another liability driven hurdle that will keep noobs off the track and sliding around the street instead.

I think you are both correct!

I am a bit confused how the racing seats install. If I get the side mounts, do I need rails too or can I use stock sliders? Just been curious about this for a while.

The standard side mounts are made to bolt to the floor. I don't know if you could get them to bolt to the stock sliders--I've never heard of anyone doing it. The easy way to install an adjustable seat is to buy some rails. I had Taitek (spelling?) rails before I finally mounted the seat to the floor. The Taitek rails bolted directly to my Sparco seat.

No rollbar needed if you have a hardtop.
Won't be attending that weekend. You going to any other upcoming events? I'm 90% in for Nov 3-4 at Summit but would also like to get in another event before that.

  • What is the minimum weight for TT-B? The last time I weighed the car, she was sitting at about 2580 without driver.
  • Forgive my noobness, but is the J's Camber joint considered "Suspension - Alteration of ball joints/dive angles. +2" (Suspension # 19)?
Thanks!
I looked up the min weight for the S2000 and it's 2850 so you're going to have to carry extra fuel, add ballast or take some points for weight. Skip was below min weight and felt the points were well worth it.

Hey guys, I'm new to the s2000 and the forum. But I have to get this car to the track. Do all of u have a roll bar installed? I'd like to do a few events before getting one. Let me know what you think. Also I'm in Winchester VA, out near summit point.

Also is there a good maintenance place around here you guys could recommend?

Most people that track their S2000 have atleast a rollbar installed because only a few organizations allow you to run without aftermarket rollover protection.
