It's a massive hangover being back at work after a track weekend...

I was just browsing through the calendar and noticed sadly September has nothing on it. Jim, can you add to the calendar

Sep 14-15 – Summit Point Main (PDX/Club Trials)

I wonder why that is such a dead month.

Is anybody going to the TrackDaze VIR in a couple weekends?

A couple other thoughts from this weekend (I'm sure this is common knowledge to many folks)..

-Running on stock tires sizes 215/245 HTR ZIII's, I can definitely see how a non-staggered setup with larger front tires would help braking. On my last few sessions I was harder on the brakes and got the ABS to kick in a little at times. Some more grip up front would mean I'd have more traction and I could get on the brakes a little later/harder.

-The Sumitomo HTR ZIII's felt good to me, and I think I'll probably get another set (but in 225/255). I've heard from some people that they're aren't that good, but I think they did just fine. They were at ~40psi hot. I may be giving up some performance compared to some other tires but they're significantly cheaper, and have good tread life on the street. For a weekend warrior setup they seem like solid tires.

-It might be worth rigging up some kind of oil temp gauge for the track. Does a fitting exist that can replace the stock oil pan drain plug with a threaded hole for an oil temp sensor? Would be nice to monitor temps a little so as to not cook the oil. I'm running good old dino Castrol GTX 10w30.

-Brake ducting seems like a cheap "investment." If it means longer pad life that's money saved. For those that drive their car on the street do you just disconnect the ducting after the track?

-Modifry seat belt lock is worth the money. Wireless remote is awesome so you don't even have to mount a switch!

Not VIR, but I'm definitely planning on hitting the Trackdaze NJMP event in June for the Saturday.

You mean the PDX event or the VIR event? I'm going through the year and planning out the rest of my weekends besides the Hyperfest.

Is NJMP that fun? I was looking at this picture of it:

The PDX, I don't remember seeing that before. You can run on main with SCCA if you have a hardtop.

I can't go to VIR at this point.

Also, does anybody know if the clubs like Porsche or Mercedes allow other cars to run in their events? I remember last year there was a Mercedes event some people did.

For example https://www.motorsportreg.com/index....B#.UZ0Qzcq_tek

Oh ok, well then.... Going to the TrackDaze Summit event in July? I'd like to sign up for that one. I gotta take advantage of the financial prosperity of no longer having a gf!!

clarkster009, NJMP is not as fun as Shenandoah. Flows very well though and has a rhythm to it.
