Requiring a roll bar on Jefferson seems silly.
Mercedes usually does not require external rollbars for their SP events. They have always allowed the OEM roll hoops.
From the info page:

Vehicle Requirements

Student vehicles must be street legal. Current registration and license plates are required. Convertibles must have either a hard top or a roll bar that meets Summit Point requirements.

So the question is does the s2k's roll hoops meet Summit Point's requirements? It seems like different racing associations have different opinions. Anyone asked them via direct contact yet?

Feels weird with the top up. Think I might pull the trigger on that track day for jefferson. Also about to order some Dunlop Z2's. Woot. Hopefully they treat me just as good as my z1's did.

I plan on sending an email sometime this weekend to see what they say. I'll make sure I post their response.

From want I can tell by reading driver info a roll bar is required. What I'm curious on is whether top has to be up or down.
Top down, that is usually Eastcoast rule. Westcoast, top up and when raining window up too...so what I've heard.:-)
I'ts club by club. PCA requires it up.

At my last event at NJMP Trackdaze let a guy run with just the hoops. He had Brides in the car though which were low enough that he passed the broomstick test.

I believe you're ok with just hoops pretty much everywhere except VIR as long as you pass the broomstick test, so seats are basically required for everyone who doesn't want to hack their interior apart

I just checked the calendar and I'm planning to run Main with SCCA that weekend. (Sept 14-15) You can run Main with a hardtop with SCCA.

You're going to need at least a few zipties as well. Just because.

After rethinking it I may just have somebody loop a couple ratchet straps around it after I get in the car.
