Am I a being a prick?
I have been in the IT field for approximately 6 years and in an effort to expand my knowledge, I decided to register for an Oracle Certification program. The course is fast paced and geared for people with at least 1-2 years of on the job experience. The individual is to also possess moderate to advanced computer skills. I have been involved in these types of classes in the past and had absolutely no problems with them.
The problem I have with this program is this. We have met 2 times (4 hour class each) and have only managed to cover 1 chapter!!!! That's right folks, in 8 hours we managed to cover 1 freaking chapter. The pace of the class is being interrupted due to what I consider STUPID (yes there are stupid questions in my field) questions. I have brought this to the attention of the instructor and to the Administrative office. I have requested that they must consider relocating some of these students to another class or to refund my money.
The level of stupidity displayed by some individuals is affecting my ability to be calm and level headed in class. I am very close to losing it and almost did during last night

Ahhh! The curse of the curse of the gifted....
I agree with you 100% unless it's just a hiccup, it's the instructors responsibility to keep up the pace, unless your in a PG county public school then it's the instructor responsibility to slow the pace.

You're not a prick. 90% of people think that just because they installed a printer on Windows 95, they are a computer genious.
I've been working with computers for 13 years, through it all, the only constant that I've learned is the more you learn....the more there is to learn...

In class last evening I requested that we have 2 make up days during the off Saturdays (classes held on Tues, Thurs, and every other saturday). You guys should've seen the looks on some of these people's faces. I hate being the bad buy

It's frustrating when you took the class to learn something, and everyone else is there to add a line to their resume.
See if the teach will speed things up. If you get you money back and take the course again, there's a big chance you'll be disappointed again.

Stupid questions are the bain of any intellegent persons existance. I remember in school there was this stupid person who always asked question. When they'd raise their hand etc you'd hear an audible groan from the whole class.
Get your money back. This isn't required education, it's fee for service. IF they can't provide adequate product then take your money elsewhere.

yea, about 5 years ago I took the A+ Cert class which was a total waste of time for me because I already had quite a few years experience but I wanted the piece of paper. Some of the people in the class had never seen a computer and some had never used one. When I complained, they explained to me that everyone had paid their money and they would complete all of the course material in the allotted time. About a week later, they asked me to teach for them...
