Horrible news about your car. Glad your friend was okay. Remember, there's always insurance.

Now's where "friendships" are tested....

Sorry to say, but for your own benefit, you should seek his insurance belly up for this first. Even if you use your own insurance, I'm betting your insurance will attempt to seek his insurance company pay up before they'll want to.

Damn - that really, really sucks. The bright side is your friend is ok. The car can be replaced, but he cannot.

By the way, for me, rule #1 is that no one besides me drives the car. Rule #2 is that there are no exceptions to rule #1. I'm sure that pisses some people off.....but too bad!

Your insurance is gonna screw you big time. The insurance company will raise your rates for at least 3 years because you had someone drive the car that wasn't on the policy, if your insurance company pays out.

One way to go at it is claim it under his insurance and see what happens. But that could take forever.

I am so sorry to hear of this, at least you did give him permission to drive your car.

When I lost mine two years ago on May 2, it was of different circumstances. It is still painful to remember.

Like others have said, your reaction is noble, you realize your friend is OK and it is just a car. However I agree that you need to pursue his insurance paying, he in fact was at fault, even though you let him drive it.

It just goes to show as so many here have said, the S2K can be unforgiving to the uninitiated.

Good luck

sucks for you...... never let someone drive your car unless the person also owns an s2k....(this way they know how to handle the car and know most of the characteristics of the car and since they own one also they won't go crazy to see how fast it is or whatever)

wow, sorry to hear that

to your "friend." Even if he's michael shumaker and you lent him a buick, he shouldn't be stomping all over your car.
