Sorry to hear...happened to me on my first car.

My friend took care of me...but then it was an old car.

Insurance will only pay the actual value of the car based on year/mileage. If you owe more, you have to take care of the rest. That was one of the reasons why i got the GAP from honda...just incase me or someone else totals the car. With GAP, honda will not only pay my deductable, they'll pay off my loan. Yes, it added $$ to my loan...but i had a bad experience in the past so this is a cushion for myself.

 

Try not to involve your insurance company!

 

You should see the pics of this accident... the S was literally wrapped around a light pole. Passenger side was crushed in, but it stopped as soon as it hit the center console. Man our cars are built well. lol.. I'm rather impressed.
