Default Another winter rims/tires thread

Didn't seem to have much help in the wheels and tire section.

I just got my s2000 a week ago and trying to get ready for the winter. I have four 16x6.5 AP1 wheels

Any problem with this for a winter rim/tire setup in the Mid-A? How worried should I be about the change in handling from a non-staggered setup plus the winter element?

FYI this is my first RWD experience in the winter so I'm trying to see what I should do about these 4 AP1 front rims that I have.

Think I could run 205 in the front and 225 in the rear like one person recommended?

Those sizes are fine. It's what I am driving on now (Wintersport 3D 205/55/16 M3 225/50/16) except mounted on set of OEM staggered AP1 wheels. You should have no problems getting those sizes on the wheels. You will want to be sure to center the wheel on rear as the center bore of the hub is smaller than the front.

Drive smooth and slow in snow/ice and you'll be fine. The car is not a handful to handle driven appropriately.

Contect Jim at TireRack and he can probably get you a set in a couple days if they are stocked.

Yup just talked to Jim about it. Said there might be a little vibration due the the difference in bore size, but everything should work fine. I plan on taking it easy this winter. Hopefully it wont be bad this season.

Just wanted to recommend the Nokian Rsi's If you havent taken a look at them, They are awsome in the rain, deep snow, slush, The only thing they dont like it wet cement. they corner like a mofo in the dry and you dont get tread squirm...

LM25's for "performance" winter or my preference - WS60's and just take it easy during the cold weather months. You'll get great wet and snow performance at the expense of some dry traction - but it might be the difference between driving and being stuck or in an accident... But you shouldn't be driving like a mad man in the winter anyway.
