true. i was just kidding around, though. didn't really realize that they could use a forum as a tool until recently.
Im sure you were kidding, just wanted to make sure everyone knows "they are watching"

Does the origninal poster have a specific question for police...or did you just wonder if there were any officers on the boards?
And why do the police officers that "may"troll the boards feel the need to keep thier identity a secret?I've always wondered that.I mean seriously how often is if that someone comes here in the local section and brags about street racing and crap like that? Most people here are smarter than that...so its not like thier going to get some big sting operation started by "going undercover" in a forum. This isnt F&F-2 is it! I guess im just wondering that myself.I would really hope that our law enforcement is spending thier time more wisely and not to mention our tax dollars in catching child moletsors, murderers, terrorists, etc. instead of trolling car forums hoping to report back to thier local precinct about a few people with illegal exhausts and no front plates! Hell if thier workload is that light they can always apply for a transfer to Richmond City Police Dept. cause god knows there's about 3-4 unsolved murders a day down here!
Dont flame...I was just wondering.

They aren't keeping secret for the sake of writing $30 tickets for no front plate, that would be assinine. Their job is to know what's going on in the community. It would take hundreds of officers on the street to learn what we publicly post on the Internet every day. So why not bookmark a few local tuner forums and browse them once or twice a week to get the word? I assure you they aren't here to issue citations and they don't monitor every single thing that you type. It's a legitimate function of police work -- modernized. And if anyone thinks their rights are violated or they are over stepping their bounds, you're welcome to move to a private SSL encrypted forum where you can speculate how police should spend their time all day without worry of being watched.
^^ been wanting to use that one Bill...

lol, it's a great smiley...

when you speak of 'internet crackdown' all I can think of is DragVA.com (now VADriven.com) but that forum was all about street racing so I think it's safe to say that our forum isn't trolled as much as one might think..
