Default Atlanta to VA

Hi everyone,
It seems like I am going to be moving to VA because of my job. I am going to start working in Arlington (22202). I have never been in D.C before.

I was wondering what would be a good place to rent around that area. I don't mind driving as long as it is about 15 min. drive. I am going to be looking at a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartments. I am willing to pay $1000-1050 for a 1 bedroom or $1300-1350 for a 2 bedroom. Washer and dryer is a must. I wouldn't mind a nice parking lot for the S either.

I was told to look at Alexandria area.

Would I able to find an apartment in that price range with a 15 min. drive to Arlington?(it doesn't have to be super luxury, all I need is a safe, quite and clean community)

Thank you,
Burak

check www.equityapartments.com - they have alot of apartments in the area. i suggest the one on Jefferson Davis Highway. they are about in your price range and half gated parking. its a nice location to a lot of good stores and roads.

what company do you work for?

My sis got her degree in hospitality from FSU and is moving back to the Atlanta area(previously in the Smyrna/Vinings area) this summer.

Sorry that I can't help much in your search, however, I'm going to guess the only way to guarantee a 15 minute commute is to live at work.

Welcome in advance! I lived on the Roswell/Alpharetta border for 4.5 years. www.rent.com is another good place to look, but I usually use www.apartments.com ... then again, I haven't looked in the VA side... just the MD

I'm not sure you can find anything in Clarendon/Ballston area to rent at that price, but that's a happening place for young singles. Try to get something with offstreet parking, though, since parking is a big issue. You'll have an easy commute from there if you are also working in Arlington. I live in Rosslyn, right up the street, and love it. But my building is pricier. Good luck!!

I am not single anymore. I just got married 2 weeks ago. I also work very long hours so having a quite apartment is a must for me. Also, I have to look at the insurance rates there since I own 2 cars( 2002 S2K and 93 Civic as a daily driver)
I only pay $100 a month for both cars (full coverage) here in Midtown Atlanta.

Well, I guess I am going to have to come up there and start looking.
