anyone in arlington have a minivan/SUV?
I ordered some furniture earlier this week, and need to pick it up from two different stores, one in Clarendon (Arlington) and the other in Tysons. The furniture is flat packed in cardboard boxes, but still too big to fit into a friend's car which i borrowed (i was hoping it would fit w/the fold down rear seat, but it was just a hair too wide). I think the biggest of the boxes is approx. 58" long x 25" wide.
Sooooo, if anyone who lives in/around arlington w/an SUV/pickup/minivan has about an hour or so of their time and is willing to drive me to each location to pick up the stuff, then drive me back to my place (I live in Ballston) ... I would really appreciate it. I don't need help loading and unloading, so no real hard work other than driving is required. As cold as it is, I'd be fine if you wanted to stay warm inside your vehicle. I was thinking of going early tomorrow morning, around 10 am before traffic gets real bad. I don't know what's fair ... how does $35 for your trouble and treating you to lunch sound?
Thanks!

You can rent a van or pickup for that.

ok, checked enterprise, and since they are not open on sunday, i have to rent for 2 days at $59.99/day. scratch that one. there's a local hertz, and same deal, they're closed on sunday so i'd have to rent for 2 days.
checked uhaul, it's $24.95 ($19.95 + $5 "service fee"), plus $1.29 a mile (let's say i use up 15 miles), total comes out to about $44. Probably need to figure in a gallon or two of gas, so another $5.00, bringing it to almost $50.
I don't think I'm gonna find anything cheaper than that, and I only need about an hour's worth of usage. I'd rather pay a Mid-A member, plus i won't have to wait in line at a dingy uhaul.
So ... if anyone can help, let me know!

Cool. Shows what I know. Sorry I am a little far away or you'd be welcome to the 4Runner or Pickup.
