I was a salesperson part-time at carmax. You can turbo the s2k by working there for 2 months.

 

Shoot, you can work at Checkered Flag and knock out the turbo and some other mods in one month

A sales rep at CarMax should make good money based on the huge mark ups and no negotiating system they use. it jsut a question of how many ups you get.


And I quess how good a closer you are.

 

I'm a service writer, I said I make that right now, during training. I work about 10 hours a day and 3-4 days a week. After 2 months, I start making commision on every billed hour I send to the techs and thats about $4.50 for each one. The people that work there bill anywhere from 30-70 hours a day, so you do the math. Its about a 60k a year job with full benefits.

Sales people i'm sure can make a lot more money. Then when you sell a certain number of cars, you get to drive any car on the lot for free.

At 20 years old, its a nice job

 

That right there is the key caveat to this thread. I would have loved to have a job like this at age 20, but right now, it certainly wouldn't pay the bills.
