I did leave some toeplay at the top of the pedal so that's not the issue, and I replaced the clutch line with a stainless line and bled it a number of times to make sure there's no air in the system. The pedal feels firm and comes back smoothly and doesn't hang. I will double check tomorrow though.

So I increased the toe play some more and it didn't slip this morning at all. I will give it some more time and see if it doesn't again. I already bought an OEM clutch off Amazon since it was $300 so worse comes to worse I have a new clutch just sitting hehe.
