Interesting. Motor was warm I take it. Also, I've never held the gas pedal down. Wonder if that would have any bearing on results. If those numbers are true, wow! That would lend credence to the carbon buildup helping compression.

I wonder if at some point too high of a compression would be detrimental.

I remember he mentioned there being a purposeful reason for it...but now it escapes me ... Hey, but I learned a LOT this morning with him, so I suspect I'd score an 89% if I were tested after the fact. "And back in my day..." ...an 89% was a solid 'B'

Have you ever used Sea Foam in the crankcase?

I am just wondering if it is carbon or metal keeping the compression up. (I have an old 4X4 I have been thinking about running SF through, but am afraid the carbon is what's holding it together )
