Default Autocross at Six Flags

Attention you locals, there is an autocross this coming weekend at 6 Flags exit 15A off of 495. The cost is $25 and gives you a good opportunity to learn how your car handles in a controlled environment. The link is www.autocrossers.org. Hope to see a few S2ks there.

I ran my first autox last weekend (3/11 at Six Flags) and had a blast. I'm already pre-registered for next weekend (march 17), running in the second heat. I'm starting to get the hang of the car and hope to improve my times next time out. Consider me hooked!

Who else was there on the 11th? There were at least two other S2000s in the third heat, but I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone.

I look forward to seeing more of you guys there!

Oh, so you were the driver of the silver car. I looked around, but couldn't find the owner. I was there with my buddy in the red s2k, I drive the yellow one. I'm glad you had a good time, this is what I bought the car for. If you are interested in coming out more often, here is the 2002 schedule: http://www.autocrossers.org/2002sched.html. Our team is going to be hosting 2 events this year, June 9th and Nov. 17th, hope you can make it.

Yup, it was me. I have no idea how my times compare, but for my first time out, I met my goal of running smooth, staying on course and not spinning

I was freezing my ass off (the killer wind) and otherwise distracted just trying to figure out what was going on, so I didn't get much of a chance to talk to folks. I would like the chance to talk to you guys since you undoubtedly have a better idea what works and what doesn't work for this car.

In fact, I think I may have talked to you bit at the tail end of last year november-december timeframe at the Bowie Baysocks stadium. Vic had convinced me to come out and watch. Subsequently I was convinced that I needed to give it a try myself.

I've decided to jump in with both feet, so I'm pre-registered for the next two events (3/17 and 3/23) and have even signed up for the Evolution school in April (philadelphia).

Chris, you must be Vic's neighbor that came out last year. We did speak briefly than. If you want someone to get pointers from, speak to Vic, he must eat something in the morning to drive the way he does. Feel free to hop in my car as a passenger on Sunday.

Hiro, so far I only have stock pads with ATE Blue brake fluid. The budget isn't allowing for $200 brake pads at the moment, but I'll have to cave in soon. Autoxs aren't that tough on the brakes as much as track days.

Gregg, from my experience, the first car off is at 9:30am and about every 1.5 hours is the next heat. So you are looking at 11am for heat 2, 1:30 for heat 3 and possibly 3ish for heat 4. I'm also registered for the 4th heat, but I'll be there a little after noonish.

Yup, I live just around the corner from Vic. He let me ride along last season and I couldn't believe how smooth his runs were. I need all the practice I can get to keep up with you guys

I'm looking forward to a great season.

My car is currently bone stock, though kumhos are on the way and I'm still waiting to hear about a front bar. I did way too much damage to my stock tires in only two days to want to continue going that route. Stock brakes seemed to be fine at autox speeds.

Hey guys! I'm looking forward to seeing y'all sunday! I won't be driving, though. The car's still up in PA in storage (It's been a loooooong winter) and my garage here at the apt. is full of furniture. But maybe I'll cruise down there with Chris or go early in the Jeep and support y'all!

Ching- any word on the Mugen bar? I've asked my cousin in AUS to look for one there since there seem to be none here in the US. If she finds more than one, would you like one from there? With Chris' furious determination, Kumho's that he's getting this week and his Comptech bar we'll soon be chasing his times!
