Yep that's it. Do you mind sharing with me what you paid for the Laguna S2K?

Thanks for sharing though.

I hate playing devils advocate but I work in the biz for Lexus, and preowned cars do not have to have previous damage disclosed, unfortunately. I'm surprised the Carfax didnt' show a little more detail to the extent of the front end collision, per the police reports or insurance claims.

If the Carfax didn't state it then the salesman may not have known anything. One thing you could and should have done was look the car over under the hood with the VIN stickers. I don't expect everyone to know how to really tell if a car has been resprayed in an area but it can be easy to tell, especially if the paint colors are that off, on the repainted areas.

You live and learn, that's about all I can say.

And that's about all I can do at this point short of re-spraying again in hopes the paints will blend better.

Still can't believe I missed it; no clue how I did. The bumper and fender are a few shades darker than the rest of the car.

The carfax didn't show airbag deployment so I imagine the accident was fairly minor. Oh well.

Think it's worth trying to repair by re-spraying?

If you're like me, you'll have it resprayed. I had some paint repair done and while most people thought it looked good, it didn't cut it for me. I had it redone and couldn't be happier. Before it was done it was really stressing me out.

That sucks Steve -- sorry to hear, but I'm sure you'll still enjoy the S2K regardless. The most important part is that the car drives well and there isn't any frame damage or suspension damage. From the sound of it - it seems like the only damage was cosmetic.

NFR is a hard color to match, probably it and GPW are the hardest imho to get a perfect match. But you can always get it resprayed by a good shop and they should be able to blend it so you can't tell. Up to you if its worth it to get it fixed -- I've needed to get my front bumper re-sprayed for ages but haven't bothered getting it fixed.

Hope you're enjoying the car though!

I'm loving the car and you can really only tell when the car is in bright light... like fluorescent lighting in a parking garage.

I can probably learn to live with it. Love driving the thing!

Would you mind sharing how much it set you back?

The shop did a great job blending the driver's door, it's the lower sill and the hood that weren't painted and is where I notice it most.

I had the entire drivers side, front bumper, OEM lip, mirrors painted and blended into the hood, as well as, the passenger side buffed. Cost was $1800 and the car looks like new.

Having said that, this was a result of a very minor dent in the drivers fender and a few cracks in the front bumper. My point is I had a lot of paint work done for a very small amount of damage, 100% cosmetic. Hell, I almost replaced the front bumper before hand because a couple of the tabs for the grille insert were broken.
