Managing helpless desk "techs" (phone operators) is definitely a lot tougher than us leads (seniors, whatever you want to call us)... at least we know how to do our work and don't page someone else when we forget how to transfer a call (or whatever else the helpless desk does). :-) If you have to manage them, take it from me... quit now and take up smoking :-)
I hear ya about meetings, there are some days where I go into meetings first thing and don't come out until I leave... and they never serve lunch!!!!

On a lighter note, I hope to make it to one of the weekend B&N gatherings in the next week or two... maybe someone wants to PM me directions from Owings Mills

 

Good luck on your new job, John. I envy you IT ppl sometimes, particularly the option to bounce from here to there at will.
