Are you freaking kidding me - you're complaining about $396?

My personal property tax for the NSX-T this year was $1,168. Imagine getting hit with that bill about 2 months after you bought it, putting not only $4,000 Down, but another $2,500 out of pocket for Tax and DMV Fees.

Now THAT was worth ranting about.

But I can't really complain - I just got hit with my personal property tax for the 95' Integra, $11.38!!!

Yes I'll complain about it. In Louisiana I didn't have to pay squat.

Why should we be punished for owning more toys? I already paid sales tax...I pay DMV every year for registration. the 5-0 collects fines from us for having the car look "too" sexy (ie: tint). It's just bullshit. I hate this state.

And when you add in my Prelude and Motorcycle my bill is pushing $1,000.

Eh, I guess when I move to a state that doesn't have it I'd feel differently. But after paying personal property tax for the past 7 years, realizing there is nothing I can do about it you just learn to deal with it.

You can do something about it. You can lobby your elected representatives to repeal the tax.

And how much was sales tax in Louisiana? Did you have to pay tolls there? How much more is gas there?

Do you own a house? $400 a year is nothing. I paid over 8x that last year. My sympathy is a bit on the thin side.

I'm not saying I agree with the tax structure in Virginia, but I pay it and complain at the polls. I'd rather bitch about housing costs than cry about driving a luxury. If you're really that upset about it, buy a Hyundai Accent or a smart Car.

I wrote to my local representatives when SEMA was trying to get a bill passed that actually was fair and made sense for aftermarket exhausts. Instead of the terribly vague law we have now. 2 of the 3 didn't write me back, and the 3rd gave me some BS about a law mandating the dB on truck brakes that doesn't even exist.

Unless you're rich enough to make financial contributions to the representatives when they're running for office, you don't really have any say.

If you are late they will really sock it to you! Better check up on that asap.

It's the county treasurer's office you need to contact.

EDIT: I believe if you purchased the car after January 1, 2007 that you wouldn't owe taxes till this time next year.

Didn't realize different counties had different dates.
